USB Clip Memory Stick

By : kristoffer

Since its introduction during the early 2000s, memory sticks have become smaller and smaller to the point that they become so overlooked. A German designer thought of this nifty idea of adding another functionality to your usual memory sticks: Turn them into paper clips!

It may sound like a crazy idea, but think about it. You can submit your resume, then attach your portfolio in the form of a memory stick, or provide press releases in the form of clipped-on memory sticks instead of traditional paper or CDs.

The designer, Arman Emami, won the 2010 Red Dot design award for product design, as well as the “Best of Show” trophy, for the USB Clip Memory Stick. It is curious to note that he normally works on commercial and residential real estate and not on technology products.

We expect to see this concept design come to life in the coming months.

The First Look on Google Android Tablet

After the phenomenal success of Apple iPad, Google is venturing into the same stream of computer tablets which is really hot and happening. Though, Google has not really provided with the features of Google Android tablet it is for sure that it will cover all or at least most of the flaws that are there inApple iPad . It is still too early to say whether the Google Android-powered tablet will takeover the world and leave behind the success ofApple iPad or will get defeated by its competitors but Google is taking its own sweet time to launch this tablet only after making sure that it covers all the features that are available in most of the computertablets.

According to the news, Google is making its new gadget a blessing for the readers very much like Apple iPad. Hence, it will be a tough competition for eBook Readers like Kindle to beat these thin magazine-like computers as more people will be attracted towards it. Another option that Google Android tablet might have is that it will have a lot of customization options for the customers which is not found inApple iPad where the hardware is very much in control of the OEM.

Google has also hinted that Google Android tablet will make use of flash technology which is missing in Apple iPad which means that customers do not need to access special iPad websites which do not support flash. Instead they can use the web like any other normal computer and that will be a big advantage for the customer. Google might also try to add various Google-based software to the tablet like in-built Gmail and Gtalk for those who always like to stay connected with their emails. In other words, Google Android tablet will be one serious competitor forApple iPad in near future.

Nintendo 3DS, 'Rage' among Best of E3 nominees

By Larry Frum

(CNN) -- Nintendo's jump into 3-D gaming and "Rage," a game that combines racing with first-person shooting, topped the list of nominees in "The Best of E3 2010."

The list of Game Critics Award nominations, released Tuesday, features five mentions for "Rage" (id Software/Bethesda), a new game franchise, and 15 nominations for game publisher Electronic Arts.

The nominations are drawn from game and hardware presentations made at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, in Los Angeles, California, in early June. The judges represent 31 different gaming publications.

See complete coverage of the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

In the "Best of Show" category, one new gaming console garnered a nomination along with four game titles. The Nintendo 3DS, a hand-held console that displays 3-D images without the use of special glasses, beat out new motion-controllers from Microsoft (Kinect) and Sony (Move).

Neither of those controllers, designed to compete against Nintendo's Wii console, were nominated in the top category.

The four games in the top category cross all platforms.

-- "Dance Central" (Harmonix/MTV Games) is a dance video game exclusive to the Kinect/Xbox 360.

-- "Disney's Epic Mickey" (JunctionPoint/Disney Interactive Studios) will be available on the Wii and features the classic Disney icon in a cartoon land gone wrong.

-- "Portal 2" (Valve) drew cheers at E3 when it was announced. It returns players to the labs of Apature Science and the company of the soft-spoken, but homicidal computer, GLaDOS.

-- "Rage" rounds out the group that received "Best of Show" nods.

Both "Portal 2" and "Rage" will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. "Portal 2" will also be available for Mac.

Awards will be announced on July 6. A full list of all 2010 nominations can be found here.
